SBA 8(a) Business Development Program Overview

SBA 8(a) Business Development Program Overview

In order to help small, disadvantaged businesses compete in the marketplace, the SBA created the 8(a) Business Development Program. The 8(a) Business Development Program is a business assistance program for small disadvantaged businesses. The 8(a) Program offers a broad scope of assistance to firms that are owned and controlled at least 51% by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

Learn how to apply for small business certification through the SBA 8(a) Business Development Certification Program. The program provides access to government contracting opportunities for small businesses, allowing them to better compete in the federal contracting marketplace.

A SBA Business Opportunity Specialist will outline the eligibility criteria during the no cost, one hour seminar.
