The Cancer Therapy & Research Center of UT Health San Antonio™ is holding a 2.6-mile fun run/walk for cancer survivors, family members and friends from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 25. The walk/run will be held at the CTRC, 7979 Wurzbach Road.

Called “Give Cancer the Boot,” the event will include a Zumba warm-up before the run, face painting, games for children, a fruit walk, blowing bubbles, a bean bag toss and more.

A local cancer survivor will tell her story and families will be invited to sign a “survivor board” to share who they are honoring with their participation. Food trucks, the San Antonio Stars mascot and community organizations with free health information will round out the event.
Cancer survivors will be treated to free food and a goodie bag.

Although all walkers and runner are asked to register online at, cancer survivors and children under age 12 can walk or run for free. Other family members and friends can register for $20. Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Proceeds will go to support the CTRC Patient and Family Fund.
