Shopping inside H-E-B stores is always great, but some of us are in a hurry and don’t have time to grab a shopping cart. That’s why at one of H-E-B’s newest stores, which is set to open this summer on San Antonio’s North Side, customers can pick up their groceries or score some of the city’s best barbecue without leaving their vehicles.
Earlier this year, the San Antonio-based retailer announced it will open a 117,000-square-foot store at Loop 1604 and Bulverde Road. The store, which will anchor Bulverde Marketplace, is slated to open in August.
True Texas BBQ, the eatery at this location, will be the first in H-E-B’s restaurant fleet to include drive-thru service. As a full-service restaurant, there’s also ample indoor and outdoor seating. The Texas-style barbecue is smoked with oak wood for up to 14 hours and served by the plate or pound. Also on the menu are delectable sides like brisket beans, creamed corn, potato salad and coleslaw.
Additionally, the store will be one of a handful of locations in San Antonio that offer H-E-B Curbside. For the service, customers can place an order online at hebtoyou.com, schedule a pick-up time and have their groceries loaded into their vehicle at the store.
Also, set to open at the location is San Antonio’s first Optical by H-E-B, a full-service eye care center. Other amenities include Blooms floral department, deli, bakery, full-service meat case, an expanded beer and wine section, Texas Backyard gardening department and pharmacy with drive-thru.
