Antlers and Wedding Oak Winery Tie the Knot to Offer an Evening of Texas Flavors

The restaurant that celebrates the best of Texas’ native flavors is getting hitched, taking the plunge for one night of bliss with a pairing dinner featuring Wedding Oak Winery, an acclaimed wine producer from the Texas Hill Country. Mark your calendar for the big event and be sure not to miss the Wedding Oak Wine dinner at Antlers, Wednesday, April 20th. Antlers and Wedding Oak Winery: A Perfect Pairing Dinner

Enjoy an evening of Texas wine paired with the fabulous flavors of game, seafood and beef during a special four-course dinner filled with flavor at Antlers.

Chef Armando Diaz, Chef de Cuisine of Antlers, has crafted a dinner menu featuring a range of Texas flavors, including  grilled octopus, antelope tartare and rib eye cap, giving diners the opportunity to experience a bevy of Texas’ natural bounty alongside Wedding Oak’s full selection locally sourced Texas wines. Chef Diaz and a Wedding Oak Winery representative will discuss each course and its pairing with dinner guests. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., and is being offered at the price of $65 per person. Tax and an 18 percent gratuity are not included in the dinner pricing.
Wedding Oak Winery draws its inspiration and name from a 400 year-old oak tree located just 2.5 miles from the vineyard in the Hill Country town of San Saba. Known as the Wedding Oak Tree, the tree has been the symbolic site of numerous ceremonies and weddings, beginning with Native Americans on to early settlers and continuing to this day, serving as a reminder of the importance of nature, the importance of place and the importance of celebrating relationships.

Nestled on the site of the historic Rogers Wiseman Ranch and serving locally sourced ingredients, respecting the Texas Hill Country’s cultural influences, Antlers is known for its fantastic customer service, unforgettable flavors and unique location providing terrific views of the resort’s scenic, award-winning golf course and Hill Country surroundings. The pairing dinner features two reds and two whites from Wedding Oak Winery’s diverse selection. Bridal Veil 2014, a light Italian-style white wine, that earned Class Champion International and Texas Class Champion at the 2016 Rodeo International Wine Competition, will begin the evening. With dazzling aromas and flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, white peaches and fresh cut grass, this refreshing white is perfect for porch sipping, and fits perfectly with the rustic simplicity of Antlers. A deep Spanish-style red, Tioja 2013, featuring equally deep aromas and flavors of black cherries, plums, cranberries and black berries, along with hints of licorice, dried tobacco, toasted black walnuts and ground espresso beans, will accompany the second course.
Sangiovese Hill Country 2013, named Best of Class Sangiovese at the 2015 Lone Star International Wine Competition, is one of the featured reds. The Italian-style red features big aromas of cherries with a hint of chocolate and black tea splashed with cinnamon. Bridal Bliss 2014, a sparkling white wine that features a bubbly white Muscat blend, will also be featured. Its grapes, grown in the Texas high plains, offer a crisp fruit character and its light body makes this bubbly wine perfect to pair with appetizers, deserts and good friends.
