March 24, 2016
The North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce is committed to our mission of keeping Bexar County strong through the delivery of advocacy, networking, recognition, leadership and professional development programs.  The beginning of 2016 has been focused on highlighting our mission through social media, community engagement and the exceptional events and programming that we offer. Thank you to a special group of San Antonio’s leaders, our volunteers, board members, and staff for being a part of this message.
Engagement Campaign
One of our biggest initiatives in 2016 is to engage our members and the greater community on the unique role that the North SA Chamber plays in San Antonio. Not everyone understands how this Chamber impacts their business or the community around them, and we want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to partner with us in moving San Antonio forward. The North SA Chamber was formed 42 years ago with the anticipation of growth beyond downtown, addressing future expansion issues and needs for what is now the northern corridor of San Antonio. We’ve played a major role in shaping and defining urban quality of life issues including transportation infrastructure, water quality and supply, energy diversification, economic and workforce development, health and wellness, technology and education. While we are rooted in the north, our membership spans far beyond the northern corridor of this city.  North SA Chamber members are represented downtown, east, west, in Boerne, Seguin and in south San Antonio. While each of our members find value in different pillars of our mission, we believe our greatest strength is our ability to be your advocate and your voice. Just hear what so many leaders around San Antonio have said about how our organization has impacted this city here. Whether our focus is water, small business, education, government, leadership development, technology or transportation, we are here to serve San Antonio and that’s what we do best. Do you have a unique story about how your membership has impacted you personally or your business professionally? We want to know about it! Join our social community and post your story tagging @NorthSAChamber #DidYouKnow.

Enterprising Women’s Conference
The North SA Chamber is now accepting nominations for the ATHENA Leadership Awards to be presented at the 2016 Enterprising Women’s Conference. Did you know that the North SA Chamber is a proud ATHENA International Founding Lifetime Member and is the only host organization in this area to acknowledge three ATHENA Leadership Award categories? These categories include: ATHENA Young Professional, ATHENA Organizational Leadership and ATHENA Leadership Awards. The deadline for nomination applications is Friday, April 29, 2016, and applications can be accessed here.
Our Events Calendar is packed with events that focus on networking and building relationships, providing training and professional development, and recognition of our membership and deserving leaders. I encourage you to find your place and get involved.
Please reach out to myself, staff, or a board member if we can serve you better. Thank you for your membership and all that you do to make San Antonio a great place to live and work.
