San Antonio Sports announced that the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Plaza will be created at the north entrance of the Alamodome. Renovations will soon begin at the Alamodome, which provides the opportunity to create this important point of recognition for the men and women who are members of the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame. The names of members will be grouped by class and engraved in granite. Members’ family, friends and fans can join them with their own personalized brick in the surrounding areas. This is an opportunity to become a part of San Antonio history.

Details may be found at SanAntonioSports.org/hofbrix or by calling 1-844-HOF-BRIX. All engraved bricks are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and the first phase of the campaign will close on July 1, 2016. There are two brick options: standard and premium. Those who purchase a premium brick option may choose to have their brick placed in the pod of their favorite Hall of Fame member.
The funds generated from the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Plaza brick campaign are 100% tax-deductible and will benefit the nonprofit San Antonio Sports’ youth initiatives, including the innovative i play! afterschool program, which provides daily sports training, plus character and nutrition education to more than 1,000 children at 45 elementary schools in underserved neighborhoods.

“What could be better than engraving your name in the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame and celebrating the achievements of these remarkable men and women while supporting a great cause?” said Russ Bookbinder, President & CEO of San Antonio Sports. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that also makes the perfect holiday gift for that hard-to-buy-for person on your list.”

“The San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Plaza will create an enhanced guest experience for fans attending events at the Alamodome and compliment the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame which is located on our Club Level,” said Nick Langella, General Manager of the Alamodome. “We are proud to be part of a program that raises donations and awareness for youth sports in the San Antonio area.”

The San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame is a partnership between San Antonio Sports, the City of San Antonio, and San Antonio Express-News. Members have made an impact in the world of sports, either through outstanding athletic achievements or outstanding contributions to athletic programs, and have ties to San Antonio. The San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame is located on the fourth floor of the Alamodome. Click here for a complete list of current members.
